Recently, I’ve been creating ACEO’s using black ink and colored pencils. This makes a nice combination of mixed media.  I like using ink to do the composition then colored pencils to complete the painting. The pencils are quite different tools compared to paint brushes and they are great for quick color and no cleanup.

I usually reserve the combination of ink and colored pencils for those days when scribbling and blending, in an outright frenzy, is the only way the “creative child” within me can be happy in the moment.
